The Solo Trip Reset
Bridport - Waterhouse Conservation Lake - South Croppies Point Campground - Derby - Blue Lake
To explore with just the map and no plans is a true adventure that does not have to take so much time to be free and shapeless.
Planning do you best to create shape and structure of your day or week, but not so much that it stops you from experiencing freedom and surprise that the journey has for you.
On my continued day off from spending a weekend with my family, I set off to Bridport for breakie by the bay. Its not hard to please me with food as I go easy and happy with a MEAT PIE!
Thought of driving straight to Mt William National Park to set up camp and chill but I am more of an open plan explorer and seeker that I love to bring light and life to the map that I always stare for hours.
Bridport - 1 hour North from Launceston
Popular for 4x4 end/start point
Beautiful Caravan Parks and Esplanade
I just stopped by here this time and had dinner in one of the pub the next. Its worth checking out as it has a sunny and laid back chill vibe.
Waterhouse Conservation Lake - 15 mins East of Bridport
Great for Medium Size Campervans and exploring.
Serene and beautiful tucked away little campsites.
South Croppies Point Campsite
Further North and West from Waterhouse Conservation Lake.
Driving up there you’ll encounter farms and old farm houses. It will lead you to a cliff side campsite that overlooks the northern waves not busy but you’re not alone as avid adventurers checks this place out. Not so great with fishing and swimming, as theres not much spot.
Great for secluded campsite and rests.
Derby - 1.5 hours North East of Launceston
Well known for Tasmania’s mountain biking capital. Known for heaps of events and races, its a outdoor sports busy town.
Petrol Station : BP
Heaps of Restaurants for Lunch and Dinner
Fave: Free Camping by the River & Floating Sauna
Sauna & Dip
Oh to be free and shapeless like the water!
The Floating Lakehouse Sauna can be booked Private Sessions or shared for 5 people.
This is my main motivator to go East as I booked myself a 3pm Sauna, and anyone who knows me knows how much I love Sauna and beautiful nature cold immersions. Its such a beautiful way to treat myself and my nervous system by firing all the wonderful hormones I can kick in with this experience..
Met 4 other soul-like ladies to share the space with, the sauna gives the most peaceful vibe and views.
When it gets too hot, jumping wild and free in the lake gives you the best feeling of being young and wild again, but this time with the perks of an adulthood autonomy.
I enjoyed some drinks and chips by the pub before driving off to Mt William National Park for Camping.
